Some are fake but most are real, however are we expected to take the entire 3rd world in?
Honestly.
I don't REALLY care about the, however I do get a little annoyed when I see how many of them are coming into the country because all of a sudden and I know the only reason for this is because for the first time EVER Ireland is doing well economically. Before the 1980s we were a very poor country and back then you wouldn't find a single asylum seeker or refugee. They're taking advantage.
Call me prejudice if you want, but I think it's human nature to feel how I feel.
The UK takes a small fraction of the world's refugees, and isn't particularly nice to them. They should be allowed to work while their cases are considered, and those here more than four years should be allowed to stay.

my honest answer would be to change the government (like australias) where they only allow people with a profession or trade to enter legally.
the government needs to make drastic action to prevent the UK from being taken over by immigrants etc..
what i think is disgusting...again relating to the gov, is the fact asylums and refugees get so much help from them, that the rest of the UK citizens have to struggle to get help, ie wait for housing, benefits, food benefits, money etc.
ive heard of a british family having to live in a tent (including new baby) because the council couldnt get them a house as they had to give them to asylums.

I think they should not be entitled to any benefits or handouts until they have paid into the kitty for a while.
They are multiplying and taking over and us innocent natives are footing the bill for it

If they are genuine let them come.
Naturally, if they are bogus we cannot let them in. However, there is a case to be made for making it easier for people to emigrate to this country.
I don't mind GENUINE refugees coming here - one the following provisos
1. They should be genuine refugees
2. They should be made to integrate to our culture in OUR country
3. If they are economic migrants they should be able to CONTRIBUTE to our society in the respect of jobs - no to strawberry pickers yes to Drs, dentists, lawyers etc.
4. If they want to live here they have 8 months to learn to read + write ENGLISH - fail a test then they get deported the following day back to the country of origin
5. If they commit a crime they get out of our country after serving a jail sentence - or whatever punishment is meted out.

But I will say that a lot of them are cowards.

its not just the fact they come here because our way of living is better they get everything put into there hand we the normal people have to work our backsides of to provide for our familys. some kids hardly see there parents because they are out there making money to feed clothe and provide there every need.... these people come into the country get a credit card and our goverment puts money in there hand every week and money to send home to the family who didnt make it here.,,,,,,,, i know of one family who moved into a brand new house from the council fully fitted with everything they would need beds bedding tv washing machine etc etc

They shouldnt be here. I am sick of hearing about the freebies they get. We are a small country with limited resourses in money, housing, jobs, school places and places to extend towns.
I have no personal gripe against theese people but I dont want them in my life.
Now for the thumbs down!
genuine people in need should be taken care of. those who come to the UK expecting a free ride are in for a real shock. contrary to popular belief they are not entitled to public funds and no council housing is given until they have been given indefinite leave to remain. people who come to our country and cause trouble should be sent home, no questions asked. if they ask for asylum on the grounds they fear for their lives then they should abide by our rules and be grateful for the help they get. if they get all radical then they should be sent back, regardless of what dangers they face. people who dump all over our system are the ones who hit the headlines and they give the genuine people a bad name.
I'd rather live next to an asylum seeker or refugee than a chav or sponging single mother who refuses to work.

we should be like australia and tell them to get lost!! and all unemployed should do comunity service to gain access to there benefits..
How many more are they going to admit before this island sinks?. I have heard them talking and they reckon we are a soft touch for housing, benefits etc. and NO I am not a racist.
Refugees should be shared equally throughout the world and if a people from a certain area are declared refugees then the old and toothless UN should wade in a sort the problem out so they can go home.
Asylum seekers should be judged on a case by case basis, and if there is a true danger to human life then they should be allowed in on the condition they work and cannot calim benefits.
We should only except asylum seekers from neighboring countries. For example if there was some catastrophe in France we should except French refugees. However when refugees are coming from Somalia, are traveling half way across the world, through numerous safe friendly countries, one cant help but wonder why. Yes, this is a rich nation but we should not be the dumping ground for the worlds poor, it is not our responsibility to feed and house and give health care and benefits and all the rest of it to anyone who is being persecuted in their country. If it is that bad they should go to th nearest safe country, not Britain.
If they are genuine then that's fine. I don't agre with all of these detention centres they hold them in though until they are processed. For sure though, there is a bogus asylum seeker for every honest one.
We are a tolerant nation, and it is our duty to take in those in need, if their lives are in danger etc. however its the economic refugees that give the rest a bad name, so my answer is yes we should help out when needed and boot anyone out who has not come into the country via the right channels
